The ‘mystery’ behind the treat that made one woman’s 70th birthday that much sweeter will warm your heart and remind you that even the smallest acts of random kindness matter, always:
Cape Town, South Africa (10 October 2023) — The smallest acts of random kindness are some of the most important. A little extra thought and a nudge of extra effort can impact big emotions of positivity—feelings that can go a very long way!
In recent acts of random kindness news, Laura Schultz’s 70th birthday was made that much sweeter (although initially mysteriously) as told by her sister-in-law, Bev Schultz.
As part of one of Laura’s birthday extras, a bouquet of flowers had been arranged. However, when Laura called Bev to say thank you for the gift, she shared particular appreciation for a feature Bev hadn’t included.
The prized gift was a Cadbury’s Topper Bar, but how it joined the bouquet display was something of a mystery to Bev.
Soon, Bev was on the case, armed with her phone and ready to solve the chocolate bar mystery.
Her first point of call was the owner of Flowercraft, whom she knows as a friend. But, as it is with any good mystery, her first ‘suspect’ had been proved wrong, as her friend had not been behind the chocolate surprise and redirected Bev to her manager/arranger.
Similarly, the manager was another solid suspect but it turned out to be a cold lead.
Instead, another stranger had opted to do a little good for the day, as revealed when a message came through for Bev that may as well have read: ‘kindness mystery solved’.
The big reveal? The act of random kindness came from none other than the driver who delivered the flowers, Azile Tshapile.
Azile had gifted Laura the chocolate of his own accord—a surprise he’d actually been given by a previous customer—simply because he thought she looked like a sweet lady and wanted to give her something for her birthday.
When the true culprit of kindness was revealed to Laura, she found out that he was not just delivering her gifts but giving of his own; she made sure to phone Azile to thank him.
