“Mean Girls” reunite for “Fetch” Black Friday advert, bringing back nostalgia and laughter!

Global (02 November 2023) – In a delightful surprise that has fans buzzing with excitement, the iconic cast of “Mean Girls” has come together once again, this time for an entertaining Black Friday advertisement that dropped on November 1st.

Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert, three of the Plastics, are among the beloved film’s stars who’ve made a hilarious and heartwarming appearance in the ad.

“Some things never change. On Wednesdays, we still wear pink, but now we shop Walmart Black Friday deals,” says Lohan, who returns as an adult Cady Heron, capturing the essence of the iconic character with a dash of humour and nostalgia.

Meanwhile, Chabert, portraying the unforgettable Gretchen Wieners, pulls up in a convertible overflowing with Walmart shopping bags, reminding us that Gretchen still knows how to make an entrance.

This enchanting advert takes us back to North Shore High School, where we find our favourite characters all grown up. Cady is now the school’s guidance counsellor, Gretchen is a stage mom, and Karen Smith, the meteorologist we all adored, has transitioned into a weather reporter.

The advert revisits classic scenes from the movie, such as the legendary “Jingle Bell Rock” performance and the Burn Book drama, sprinkled with familiar lines like “grool” and “word vomit.” And, of course, Gretchen gets chastised yet again for her tireless quest to make “fetch” a thing, this time by the next generation’s Plastics.

“Stop trying to make ‘fetch’ happen, Mom! It’s still not going to happen,” a younger voice exclaims, capturing the essence of Mean Girls’ timeless humour and the enduring appeal of its catchphrases.

The cast’s reunion is a sight to behold, with Daniel Franzese, who played Damian Leigh, making charming appearances throughout the ad. Rajiv Surendra, who portrayed Kevin Gnapoor in the film, is now the proud dad of Kevin G Jr., adding a heartwarming touch to the ensemble.

“I know we are excited for everyone to see what we’ve all been up to. Walmart made it so special by allowing us to have fun together while getting to do a new project that spreads excitement. There’s something here for everyone (except for Gretchen Wieners),” Franzese enthusiastically shared with People, perfectly capturing the spirit of this delightful reunion.

One notable absence from the ad is Rachel McAdams, who brought the iconic Regina George to life. While no official statement or explanation has been provided by Rachel McAdams or Walmart regarding her absence, fans remain hopeful that she might still rejoin her Mean Girls castmates in future projects. McAdams has expressed her interest in reuniting with the Mean Girls cast, including the possibility of making a cameo in the new Mean Girls movie based on the hit Broadway Musical.

As fans eagerly embrace this unexpected reunion, the “Mean Girls” Black Friday ad has provided a much-needed dose of nostalgia and laughter, reminding us that some things, like our love for this iconic film, never truly change.
