Whether it’s the heartwarming “Pay It Forward Wall,” the touching tribute to mothers with the “Empty Chair,” or the sweet tale of Anele sharing cheesecake love, Neil and DC Coffee Co. have left an indelible mark on the community.

Recently, a post on the “I Love Fourways” Facebook group written by Carolyn Penny revealed Neil’s struggles.

In a heartfelt plea, the community acknowledged Neil’s selflessness and called for assistance. Neil is facing the darkness of depression and severe burnout, and he’s taking a step back from the business to heal. However, the coffee shop and its devoted family have financial obligations that weigh heavily, making Neil’s path to recovery all the more challenging.

“One of the Fourways Angels has fallen down and we need your help to pick them up again. It is no secret how much Neil Golding from DC Coffee Co and his family do for the community. How much they give, how much they share, how they activate for mental health and the incredible space they have created so that the community can have one of the best and safest spots to meet.

Neil is really struggling and we need to help him get back on his feet. He is suffering with depression, he is extremely burnt out and he needs to take a step back to heal. The coffee shop and family have overheads they need to take care of and Neil cannot recover with this pressure around him.

Also please think out the box as to how we can get this family back on their feet. Maybe a little getaway or some de-stressing ideas???”
