Sizwe Nzima is a true inspiration and a hero… the twentyone-year-old cyclist is making a difference one delivery at a time with his little company called Iyeza Express.
Johannesburg, South Africa (04 August 2015) – Sizwe saw firsthand the burden of medicine collection at clinics – the cost of transport, the time spent waiting, the cost to have someone look after children left at home or the loss of pay due to missing work – when he would sit amongst the ailing elderly waiting to collect medicine for his grandparents, who raised him while his mother worked in Johannesburg.
Sizwe decided to dedicate his days to collecting chronic medication from public health facilities and deliver them on bicycle to the people who needed it most… from one little idea to help his community, Sizwe created a blossoming business called Iyeza Express.
The concept of Iyeza Express grew from his grandmother spreading the word of the simple yet invaluable service that he provided. Sizwe collects & delivers medicine for a small added fee. And the proof is in the pudding… he started off with two clients – his grandparents – but now has more than 250.
He hopes to expand locally and even nationally. He says talks are already underway to expand it into other townships, and the demand is great.
“The aim of Iyeza Express is to give everyone health access, people need good health access despite their income, despite where they live – it’s a basic human right.”
For that reason, Sizwe has been named one of Mail & Guardian’s 200 Young South African’s, one of the Top 5 Youth Entrepreneurs at Cape Town Entrepreneurship Week and listed as one of 30 Under 30 African Entrepreneurs on www.forbes.com.
Hi Good Things Guy
I love your attitude
Today I have a gift for you. The gift of knowledge. There is no saying that says ‘the proof is in the pudding’. Yes I know everyone says it. It is wrong. It is ‘the proof of the pudding is in the eating’
It’s a pleasure 😄
