Just yesterday, Maxine found out that Mokete had been interviewed and landed his dream job. Months of dedication and hard work had paid off!

South Africa (17 August 2015) – South Africa is one of the only places in the world where you can find literally anything at an intersection… from garbage bags to a new pair of sunnies, the list is almost endless.

Maxine Gray, an incredible South Afri-CAN, never thought that her encounter with a man at an intersection would not only change his life but inspire a nation!

Mokete Mampshika spent every day standing at the Grayston and Rivonia intersection, handing out his CV to people in traffic. Through the cold or rain, Mokete spends his days focused on one goal… getting a job and jump-starting his career.

Maxine took notice of this incredible man and decided to try to help him. She posted his CV on her Facebook and within minutes the post went viral.

“This lovely young man stands at the robot by Grayston and Rivonia & hands out his impressive and professional CV – all he needs is an opportunity! I have a full copy of his CV which I can email to anyone that might be able to give this man a job! He is well spoken and so proactive in his approach to find a job – let’s give this man a chance! Please share & spread the word!”

The post reached thousands of people and hundreds contacted Maxine to ask for Mokete’s details. Apparently, he received loads of great job offers from highly recognised institutions.

Just yesterday, Maxine found out that Mokete had been interviewed and accepted in a new position. Months of dedication and hard work had paid off!

“My heart is bursting will happiness today as I spoke with Mokete and learnt he has started working at Liberty as of last Friday… it is things like this that leave me forever hopeful & optimistic about the potential that our beautiful country and its people have!”

Mokete is excited about his new position and now see’s hope for himself and the rest of South Africa.

He took to the streets one last time, to thank everyone for their help!

“From the bottom of my heart I say thank you for being concerned and for helping me through my hardships. It is time to prosper and build a better life and career.”
