The Men’s Water Polo Team have set off for Doha, where they, alongside fellow South African swimmers, will compete at the 2024 World Aquatic Championships.
Doha, Qatar (02 February 2024) – Swimming South Africa will be highlighting all the aquatic events that South Africa is competing in at the World Aquatic Championships in Doha. They recently shared the South African Men’s Water Polo team; the team is on their way to competing against the world’s best!
The World Aquatic Championships is running from the 2nd to the 18th of February 2024 in Doha, Qatar. The event is a highly anticipated one where the world’s best aquatic athletes come together to compete. This one is a significant competition as this is also an Olympic year and many athletes will be competing with that in mind, aiming to earn the final spots on national teams heading to the Olympics.
The championship events include Artistic Swimming, Diving, Open Water Swimming, Water Polo, Swimming and High Diving.
The opening will be taking place on the 4th of February at Aspire Dome. The Aspire Dome will host the swimming (SWM), artistic swimming (SWA) and water polo (WPO) competitions and training. The men’s and women’s water polo teams will start competing on the 5th of February, starting with the South African women’s team against Canada and the men’s team against Spain.
The sports events will be aired on Supersport.
