South African boxer Jackson Chauke defeated Kaisy Khademi over the weekend, winning the IBO Flyweight world title.

 

London, United Kingdom (29 January 2024) – Jackson Chauke showed his resilience and boxing prowess in this weekend’s International Boxing Organisation‘s (IBO) Flyweight Championship match, walking away with the victory and winning title.

The match has been called a round-for-round nail-biter as the opponents went hit for hit through twelve rounds. In the end, by way of a unanimous vote, the judges named Jackson Chauke, World Champion!

Jackson Van Tonder Chauke, from Tembisa, is 38 years old. He was a Silver medal winner in the 2006 Commonwealth Games and 2007 All-Africa Games and represented South Africa at the 2008 Olympics.

While his career has been predominantly local, he has competed internationally. He has held the World Boxing Council (WBC) International flyweight title since 2019.

For this fight, Jackson went up against Afghan-British boxer Kaisy Khademi in the minimum weight class. Jackson is known for his aggressive fighting style, but that, combined with his skill, endurance and years of experience, earned him the points needed to take the title.
