The Power of Pink prevailed again after over 1000 people took to Rosebank to join the same team in their support of Breast Cancer awareness. All in all, R50 000 was donated to CANSA!
Rosebank, South Africa (17 November 2023) — On a bold morning at the end of October, over 1000 people turned the streets of Rosebank pink with purpose.
Together, in an explosion of the colour symbolic of Breast Cancer support, tutus and running shoes were at the ready and soon the stretch from Bath Avenue had begun.
The journey was 5 kilometres, but went a long way. The special part about running for a reason is that the competition isn’t the person next to you, but rather the challenge you are trying to soothe and support for someone else. Everyone in the crowd is on the same team, sharing the same goal: to show up, raise as much awareness and fundraise with all your might for your fellow South African sisters who are fighting one of the toughest fights.
These efforts were also a marvel for anyone on the outside looking in to be inspired by as the group energy, unity and celebration of what is worth fighting for lit up the suburb.
Once complete, R50 000 was donated tothe Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) by the event’s partner; marking a powerful end to a very busy Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the organisation.
