Musa Motha, the sole South African competitor, joins America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League 2024, bringing his inspirational story and indomitable spirit back to the global stage.

Global (30 December 2023) – Musa Motha became a household name globally in 2023 and now his inspiring journey continues… from Britain’s Stage to America’s Fantasy League!

The South African sensation, who captured the hearts of millions on Britain’s Got Talent in 2023, is now setting his sights on an even grander stage: America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League in 2024. And what a journey it promises to be!

Motha’s journey to the limelight was more than just a performance; it was a symphony of courage, talent, and resilience. Dancing with crutches, he moved with a grace that belied his physical challenges, showcasing a spirit that was both infectious and inspiring.

Watch his first performance below:

Simon Cowell, known for his discerning eye and often tough critiques, couldn’t help but be moved. In a historic moment, he invited all the judges to give Motha a ‘group golden buzzer,’ a decision that required no arm-twisting.

Throughout his BGT journey, the cancer survivor and South African talent became synonymous with the kind of dance mainstream TV often sleeps on—dance that moves our feelings out of their hiding places. With one leg strong, Motha was able to tell stories of resilience through rhythm, earning him crowd favour, tears, and a unique golden buzzer straight to the semi-finals; a showcase he won.

As the curtain drew for the finals over the weekend, it was evident that the moment was Motha’s.

The performance was of the same calibre that the dancer carried throughout his stage presence with an added dose of fierce, adrenaline-soaked movements.

Despite the standing ovation and crowd calls, Motha didn’t win the competition. Viggo Venn from Norway may have won the show, but Motha won the hearts watching at home and, better yet, the hearts of those who didn’t even follow the show for any other reason but him.

Now, as we usher in 2024, the stage is set for another groundbreaking season of America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League. This spinoff promises a unique twist, pitting judges against each other as they lead their own dream teams. The stakes? A grand prize of $250,000 and, of course, the coveted bragging rights. Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Terry Crews are all set to return, with Mel B rejoining the panel after a four-year hiatus. Among the 40 familiar faces gracing the stage will be Musa Motha, proudly flying the flag for South Africa.

What makes Motha’s inclusion in America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League so special is the platform it provides for his story to resonate even further and, as stated in the trailer, Simon Cowell believes that “he will win the entire show”!

America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League kicks off in the United States on the 1st of January 2024.
