The driving force behind this gem of a cafe is Dom Molete, who dreamed of owning her own place since the age of 6.
30 years later and that dream has come true as Dom’s Place opened it’s doors a year ago, in a small shopping centre 2 minutes off the N3 between Jhb and Durban on Hamilton Street.
Using fresh local ingredients she is a passionate advocate for personal touches and this is evident through all aspects of a visit to this charming spot. A self taught chef, Dom uses her vibrant personality to inject a vital ingredient to her offering for tired travelers, love.
“My religion is love”, she laughs as she explains how her journey to opening her own cafe took her from Cape Town and Johannesburg to the Transkei before settling in Harrismith.
A self-proclaimed “small-town” girl she loves the attention to detail the slower pace of small town living affords her and the local community have welcomed her with open arms.
