We all know how the documentary will end (unless you missed the Springboks winning the 2023 Rugby World Cup, that is), but what about the story leading up to it? Get ready for Chasing the Sun 2!

Global (13 February 2024) — Unless you were living on a remote island with no connection in October 2023, you probably know that the Springboks won the 2023 Rugby World Cup in what can only be described as one of the most exhilarating Rugby World Cups to date.

South Africa sat at the edge of our seats and checked our heart rates numerous times in anticipation of the final, and when that final came, you could bet your boerewors that it was the best time to be South African.

It’s no secret what the victory meant to South Africa. Heck, we got a public holiday because of it!

We may have settled down as a nation since then, but the Springbok’s momentum is picking up again after ‘Chasing the Sun 2′ was announced!

While many of us know how the documentary will end (in victory), the doccie will act as a sequel to Chasing the Sun, taking us all behind the scenes with the Boks’ to be part of the campaign and story that led up to claiming the Webb Ellis Cup for the fourth time.

If Chasing the Sun is anything to go by, we know we’re in for many feels, moments of exceptional pride and an even greater appreciation for all our Boks’ achieved.

Said Rassie Erasmus:

“The people of South Africa were a real motivation for us during the World Cup and we really were playing for them…This documentary is one way we can give back to South Africa by sharing our experience from the inside, warts and all. We cannot wait to give South Africans insight into our journey to winning the title.”

Chasing the Sun 2 is almost ready to rock our television sets and will premiere on M-Net and Supersport come 24 March 2024.
