James and Steve from DARG are being hailed heroes for hiking the Llandudno Ravine to help a dog in distress, carrying it all the way back down again.
Llandudno, South Africa (05 January 2024) – Two heroes from DARG are being praised for their efforts in rescuing a dog in the Llandudno Ravine. Brothers James and Steve Munthali, who work at DARG, took on the hike to help the family of the distressed hound.
DARG is a pro-life, non-profit organisation that rescues, cares for, sterilises and rehomes previously abused, neglected and abandoned cats and dogs. The incredible organisation provides a crucial role for the communities of Imizamo Yethu, Hangberg and the greater Hout Bay area.
By the time James and Steve got back to the family waiting in the parking lot, it was late but the Hout Bay Vet team were waiting after hours for the family so their dog could be checked over.
“The DARG TEAM to the rescue!!! We received a call yesterday afternoon about a dog in distress up Llandudno Ravine.
Our two guys hiked up to assist and took turns carrying the dog back down. He was welcomed by a very distressed family in the parking lot and was rushed to Hout Bay Vet to be checked. Thank goodness he is going to be OK. Thank you to our incredible guys James and Steve – you are truly heroes!
Thank you too to Hout Bay Vet and your staff for staying after hours to assist: Dr Pam you have a heart of gold.”
James and Steve are the subjects of hundreds of comments praising their efforts. This isn’t the first time a DARG team member has made headlines for this kind of effort. Last year February, Chester Kulambone also helped carry a distressed dog down the mountain.
