Observatory, South Africa (12 December 2023) – Niven O’Malley is being hailed a hero after he witnessed a child abduction in progress and stopped it from happening. The father of the young lady, who was almost taken, was so thankful he emailed Niven’s employer Courier Guy to share what he had done.

According to thankful father, Liam Van Zyl, his 7-year-old daughter was waiting for him outside the school when a Grey Toyota Corolla pulled up next to her, and one of the men inside started trying to pull her into the car. Liam was just around the corner as the incident was taking place.

Niven, who is a regular Courier Guy for Liam, saw the commotion and intervened. As Niven often delivers to the Van Zyl family, he recognised Tamia and immediately called out to her. As she struggled to pull her arm free, he ran over, pulling out his phone to take video of the men in the car. He managed to get to Tamia in time and chased the abductors off in the process.

Worried for her safety, he delivered a very scared Tamia to Liam, who was around the corner, and the pair shared the harrowing tale of the abduction.

What was better still was that because he had filmed the intense moment, he captured the license plates of the vehicle and was able to share this with Liam, too.

While Tamia was rattled by the attempted abduction and her arm had some bruising, she is thankfully safe and back with her dad – all thanks to Niven’s quick actions. Liam has been able to use the footage to alert the police to the attempted abduction, and they are now on the lookout for the criminals.

“If it wasn’t for Niven, who knows where my daughter would’ve been; I just want to say a big thanks to Niven I appreciate it alot”
